What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled?

 

At RealDealHolidays.com, we always do our very best to make sure your flight is on time but as we do not run the airlines this is something that it sometimes unforeseeable, and we're regularly checking and using the top performing airlines in the UK. That said, sometimes things do go wrong, and in these cases, we'll try to work with the airline to make sure any disruption to your journey is kept to a minimum.

 

To see if your flight is delayed please check the most up-to-date information at the airport. Please check in normally unless you've been notified otherwise.

 

If you're denied boarding, or your flight is cancelled or delayed for at least 2 hours, please speak to staff at the check-in desk or boarding gate to see information that states what your rights are when it comes to things like compensation or assistance.

 

How do I book Assistance for the Airport?

 

If you’ll need assistance when you get to the airport, call our Customer Service team at least 72 hours before you travel. Assistance can’t be guaranteed if you don’t let us know before this time.

 

Can I take a pushchair on the flights?

Yes. You can bring a pushchair or pram on your flight at no extra cost with most airlines, however always do contact us so we can check with the airline first for you.

 

What can I take through to the airport?

 

For the UK-

 

Hand luggage allowances

Check with your airline how many and what size bags you can take on the plane with you.

 

Taking liquids through security

There are restrictions on the amount of liquids you can take in your hand luggage. If possible, pack liquids in your hold baggage (luggage that you check in).

 

Liquids include;

 

All drinks, including water

liquid or semi-liquid foods, eg soup, jam, honey and syrups

cosmetics and toiletries, including creams, lotions, oils, perfumes, mascara and lip gloss

sprays, including shaving foam, hairspray and spray deodorants

pastes, including toothpaste

gels, including hair and shower gel

contact lens solution

any other solutions and items of similar consistency

If you do take liquids in your hand luggage:

 

Containers must hold no more than 100ML

containers must be in a single, transparent, resealable plastic bag, which holds no more than a litre and measures approximately 20cm x 20cm

contents must fit comfortably inside the bag so it can be sealed

the bag must not be knotted or tied at the top

you’re limited to 1 plastic bag per person

you must show the bag at the airport security point

Liquids in containers larger than 100ml generally can’t go through security even if the container is only part full. There are some exemptions.

 

Exemptions

 

You can take liquid containers larger than 100ml through security if they:

 

are for essential medical purposes

are for special dietary requirements

contain baby food or baby milk

You can also take liquids bought at an airport or on a plane (eg duty free) through security if:

 

the items are sealed inside a security bag when you buy them

the receipt for the items is sealed in the security bag and visible

You must not open the security bag until you reach your final destination. Airport staff may need to open the items to screen the liquid at the security point.

 

Liquid restrictions outside the EU

Countries outside the EU might have different rules on carrying liquids as a transit or transfer passenger. You should check these rules with the relevant airlines and airports before travelling.

 

Lighters

You can only carry 1 lighter on board. You should put it inside a resealable plastic bag (like the ones used for liquids), which you must keep on you throughout the flight. You can’t:

 

put it in your hold luggage

put it in your hand luggage after screening

 

Can I take baby food and baby bottles on your flight?

 

Yes, you can carry liquid baby foods or baby milk that's either pre-packaged or made up at home. You can also carry foods for special dietary requirements as long as it's essential for the flight or holiday and in line with your country’s laws.

 

Please give any food or baby milk to staff when you go through airport security, as it'll be screened separately.

 

Powder formula

There are no restrictions on taking powder formula, you can carry your baby milk powder to be mixed up during your holiday as part of your luggage allowance. This may also be tested at airport security.

What happens if I cannot travel due to medical reasons?

 

If you have a medical condition, a serious illness, or undergone recent surgery, you’ll need to be cleared for travel by the airline you have booked with through us so please contact us so we can ensure this happens smoothly.

You may also require a ‘Fitness to Fly’ certificate from your GP.

We’ll need at least six working days’ notice ahead of the flight to permit a cancellation.

If you do need to rebook your flight, there maybe a charge involved dependant on your purchase.

Please note that we’ll require a medical certificate from your GP as proof of illness or medical condition.

In certain circumstances you may also need to call the airline yourself because of data protection laws to resolve any medical issues.

 

I need to cancel my holiday what do I do?

 

We would need to speak to the specific supplier of your holiday to see the terms of cancellation and if you would obtain any refund, terms vary per supplier therefore we cannot state what refund you will obtain (if any) until you notify us. The earlier you let us know the quicker we can help by providing you any cancellation fees/charges involved.

 

How are your prices such deals? How are they so low?

How Can I do online check in? When can I do it?

 

Online check is subject to your holiday’s airline operator and is generally done 1 week before departure but is different per airline. If you require any assistance with your online check in please contact us and we will happily assist you.

 

What is Advance Passenger Information (API?) that you are requesting?

 

You need to provide Advance Passenger Information (API) by law before you go on holiday to certain destinations.

It is information from your passport that's required by the government of the country you're travelling to.

RealDealHolidays.com also needs this information for Aviation Security purposes.

RealDealHolidays.com acts as a selling retail agent in respect of all bookings made on our website.

Real Deal Holidays acts as a retail agent for two ATOL trade only suppliers- Travel 2 and Major 4 Agents who's ATOL numbers are shown on our home page and terms and conditions. We have written agreements in line with CAA regulatons.

 

We do have full travel agency business insurance for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity as well to cover our customers further.
